This unit was called "Artists Steal", so I stole my friends' face and put it on a banana. This piece is going to be a gift to my friend Brady, who is graduating this year. I wanted way to give back to him for everything he's done for me this year. This piece is done in acrylic on canvas.
I usually work in sculpture or sketch and i have very little skill using paint, however on my latest piece, I saw no alternative to acrylics on canvas. I decided to take a risk and it has turned out very well. With this piece I also took risks when I was trying to decide what color I should make the background be. Going against my better judgement I decided to go with a light blue over a darker blue and looking back on it now, I feel as though i have made the right choice.
Last semester I took a class on ceramics. I created many pieces ranging from thrown bowls and aesthetic pieces to jewelry. Here are a few pictures of what i created.
This past unit has required us to create a piece of art using clothespins either as an inspiration or as materials. I myself am a mediocre pianist and thought that it would be fun to create a piano out of clothespins. the keys are semi-functional in the sense that they are able do be depressed, however they do not trigger any sound the way that an electronic keyboard would.
